Early Career Travel Grants
A new REG initiative aimed at supporting early career professionals to attend the Summit, showcase their research to a targeted audience of medical professionals, connect with leading experts, potential collaborators, and peers in their field, receive constructive feedback to improve their research further, and gain recognition for their contributions to the medical community.
The REG Board will offer Early Career Travel Grants to the best abstracts submitted by early career professionals, upon application during abstract submission.
Abstract selection will be based on the quality of submitted abstracts.

Abstract Regulations for Poster Presentations
- Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the online abstract submission form available at the top of this webpage.
- Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your stated email address.
If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us at info@regsummit2025.org - Abstracts must be written in English.
- Maximum 390 words, excluding title and authors list and affiliations.
- A maximum of 2 graphs, tables or diagrams may be included in addition to the word count and must be in original format and not an image.
- It is the author's responsibility to submit a complete abstract in finalized format. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced as typed by the author.
- The presenting author is indicated by clicking on the appropriate box next to the respective name. Co-authorship is open to an unlimited number of abstracts.
- Submission of closely related abstracts from the same group is discouraged.
- Abstract presenters must be registered to the Summit and have paid their registration fee in full by February 20th, 2025.
- Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to the corresponding author of each abstract by January 31st, 2025.
- Accepted abstracts will be considered for poster presentations.
- The corresponding author receives all information concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all other co-authors of the status of the abstract.
- All abstract presenters will be asked to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification. If you do not reconfirm your abstract presentation, register before the given deadline, your abstract will be removed from the programme
- Abstracts will be assessed by an expert panel of reviewers. Acceptance of the submitted work is at the discretion of the REG Scientific Committee.
- The presenting author of an abstract must register to the Summit by the given deadline. If registration is not completed within the deadline, the abstract will be removed from the programme.
- Consent for publication of individual patient data (applies to abstracts with identifiable patient information): For publication of an abstract that contains identifiable information about patients, it is necessary that patients have given consent for the research to be published. Abstracts that include identifiable information about individual patients, such as gender, age, illness, location, or images, must have written informed consent from the patient or, if applicable, their parent or legal guardian. A statement confirming this consent should also be included in the abstract text.
- The abstract must contain original work. If the abstract was published or presented at a meeting of another national or international scientific organisation, it must contain all citations.
- Upon abstract submission authors give their consent for the abstract to be published in the Online Journal Supplement of Respiratory Research
Early Career Travel Grants
A new REG initiative aimed at supporting early career professionals to attend the Summit, showcase their research to a targeted audience of medical professionals, connect with leading experts, potential collaborators, and peers in their field, receive constructive feedback to improve their research further, and gain recognition for their contributions to the medical community.
The REG Board will offer Early Career Travel Grants to the best abstracts submitted by early career professionals, upon application during abstract submission.
Abstract selection will be based on the quality of submitted abstracts.
Each Early Career Travel Grant includes:
- Monetary award of 700 euros to cover travel & accommodation expenses
- Complimentary registration to the Summit
- 20% discount on the early fee of the next Summit (2026) when registering by a specific deadline
- Certificate of achievement
- Applicants must not have received any other REG Grant or Sponsorship in the last three years
- Must be 40 years of age or under at the time of the application deadline
- Be an early career professional (resident, fellow, junior faculty) at the time of submission
- Be the primary author of the abstract
- Attend the conference and present in person

Selected abstracts will be invited to present their work as a poster and as oral presentations in the dedicated abstract presentation session during the scientific programme.
Abstract Regulations for Early Career Travel Grants
Selected abstracts will be invited to present their work as a poster and as oral presentations in the dedicated abstract presentation session during the scientific programme.
- Submit abstracts online in English, with a maximum of 390 words (excluding title and authors).
- You may include up to 2 original graphs, tables, or diagrams.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring their abstracts are error-free, as submitted content will be reproduced exactly.
- Indicate your intention to apply for an Early Career Travel Grant by selecting the appropriate box on the submission platform.
- If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submission, contact info@regsummit2025.org
- By January 31st, 2025, the corresponding author of each submitted abstract will receive a notification of acceptance or rejection.
- Accepted abstracts for Early Career Travel Grants will be eligible for both poster and oral presentations in a dedicated session.
- The corresponding author is responsible for receiving all information about the abstract and must inform all co-authors of its status.
- All presenters will need to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification.
