Welcome Message
Dear Friends and colleagues,
As current president of the ESPN it is a great honor to be hosting the next biannual congress of our society. This will be the 29th ESPN congress and the first time that it has been held in the United Kingdom. In the words of Dr Samuel Johnson “when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life”, so it is a pleasure to invite you to the heart of our exciting, multicultural and historic capital city.
The Scientific committee has designed a programme to reflect the breadth of paediatric neurosurgical practice with emphasis on current areas of controversy and innovation ranging from common topics such as hydrocephalus and neuroncology to gene therapies and the impact of AI. Each of these themes will be enhanced by the participation of renowned invited speakers from within Europe and beyond.
In addition to the main scientific programme the scientific committee in association with the ESPN and the local team at Great Ormond Street will be hosting a range of pre congress courses.
It is an honour and pleasure to announce that ESPN London 2025 will be a joint meeting with newly formed African Paediatric Neurosurgical Society.
We welcome our African colleagues and look forward to a fruitful future collaboration between our societies.
The success of any congress is dependent on the enthusiasm and participation of the delegates. We therefore encourage you to not only register, but to submit abstracts and posters to enrich the scientific discourse.
The congress venue is in the centre of London, close to the Eurostar terminal and with easy access to London airports by underground/train.
The ESPN has a long tradition of friendship, collaboration and education, we sincerely hope to propagate that ethos and so we look forward to offering you a warm welcome and memorable congress in London.

The 29th Congress of the European Society for
Pediatric Neurosurgery, London, United Kingdom 11/05/2025 - 14/05/2025 has been
granted 21 European CME credits (ECMEC®s) by the European Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).Each participant can only receive the number of credits he/she is entitled to according to his/her actual participation at the event once he/she has completed the feedback form. Cf. criteria 22 of UEMS 2023.07.

About ESPN Congress
The ESPN Congress is organized on a biennial basis (traditionally in late April - early May) by the acting ESPN President in his country of origin.It is ESPN’s main educational activity since its first organization in 1967 in Vienna, Austria, which constituted the Society’s inaugural occasion.
The Scientific Program is drafted by the ESPN Scientific Committee, in collaboration with the ESPN President.
Plenary sessions host a series of invited lectures delivered by renowned experts in the field of Pediatric Neurosurgery and sister disciplines.
Abstract submission on topics covering all major aspects of concurrent Pediatric Neurosurgery research and clinical practice lavishly provides for oral and poster presentations.
Vibrant discussion is an integral part of all sessions, with the strategic positioning of Panel Tables on major issues addressed.
