Dear colleagues and friends,
It is with great pleasure to announce the 2024 Annual Postgraduate Course (12th cycle – 3rd year) of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN) to be held in Sibiu, Romania, between 20-25 May, 2024, on site.
Romania is of significant importance for the ESPN, as several active members belong to this country. Additionally, the country is going to host this course for the second time, at 25 years of distance.
Cerebral hemispheric tumors, infection, spasticity, pineal region, and epilepsy are the main topics of the 2024 course. As usual, all of them will be treated in the typical informal atmosphere in order to stimulate interactions between the academia and the trainees. The newcomers will feel to be a part of our special world since the beginning. Moreover, the format of the course has been changed to leave more space to the discussion, as specifically requested by the trainees in the previous, successful course in Norway.
The ESPN courses have generated, year after year, increasing friendship bonds among European pediatric neurosurgeons and have contributed to their education by means of lectures, videos presentations and practical hands-on sessions carried out by excellent international experts. The courses also provide a unique opportunity for scientific debate, as well as for sharing personal lifelong experiences.
The event will take place at Ramada Hotel, located in the heart of Transylvania, in the medieval town of Sibiu. The city became well-known for its multiculturality and for several nominations, among which: European Capital of Culture in 2007, European Region of Gastronomy in 2019, Europe's 8th most idyllic place to live, according to Forbes. Every year, the city hosts prestigious international cultural events, such as: Sibiu International Theatre Festival, the largest theatre festival in Eastern Europe, Transilvania International Film Festival, or the International Jazz Festival.
We look forward to welcoming all of you to Sibiu, Romania, in 2024!
