Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive chronic condition that affects 10% of the general population worldwide. Chronic kidney disease is more prevalent in older individuals, women, racial minorities, and in people experiencing diabetes mellitus and hypertension. CKD represents an especially large burden in low- and middle-income countries. Studies have shown that lifestyle interventions can be effective in preventing and treating a wide range of chronic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease all factors that are related with the development of CKD. The current presentation aims to discuss all recent evidence supporting the application of Lifestyle Medicine in the management of CKD.
