Oral presentation guidelines

Congratulations on acceptance for an oral presentation at the 38th International conference on geochemistry and health
Please read ALL of the instructions below carefully.

Guidelines for preparation and upload

All presentations must be uploaded to lecture theatre by 6 pm the day BEFORE your allotted presentation time (for presentations on the 3rd of July you should load it between 8 and 8:15 on the 3rd of July or send it to argyraki@geol.uoa.gr). Staff will be on site to assist with uploads, we strongly advice you bring the presentation on 2 external drives and not rely on emails and cloud storage sharing.

Your maximum allotted time will be 10 minutes with 2 minutes extra for questions. At such a well-attended conference, time will be strictly adhered to. You will be signaled when 8 minutes have elapsed, and we expect you to begin wrapping up your talk.

We recommend avoiding embedded videos, footage and audio and instead link to external sources. If you have any special multimedia requirements, please let us know well in advance to avoid disappointment. We will try and accommodate you as best possible.

We further advice you visit and reviewing oral presentation templates online to ensure you capture the attention of your desired network, a quick internet search for “academic presentation styles” can be invaluable.

Long/dense sections of text (e.g. complete paragraphs) are highly discouraged. Make your main points clear.

Make sure you and your institution get full credit for your work include your contact details (e.g. name, email address, Twitter handle).
