His main clinical and scientific interests are paediatric brain tumours and how to optimize therapy for them in order to increase survival and reduce long-term sequelae. He has a long-standing experience in the design and conduct of multicentre clinical trials in paediatric brain tumours, especially medulloblastoma. He has been nominated by the Brain Tumour Group of the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE-BTG) to lead the European Trial SIOP-MB6 on standard-risk medulloblastoma, which for the first time will also include a randomized question on the optimal surgical approach to medulloblastoma. Dr Mynarek has published 27 pubmed-listed articles on medulloblastoma, focussing on clinical trials outcomes and strategies to improve risk-stratification based on biological tumour criteria.
