The Organizing Committee of EFMC14 invites you to participate in the Conference through the submission of scientific abstracts for oral presentation. Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the EFMCC. Acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. Oral presentations format will be provided in due time. All abstract submissions must be made electronically through EFMC14’s online abstract submission system.

Abstract Submission Timeline
- Submission Site Opens: November 1st 2021
- EXPIRED Submission Deadline: March 15th 2022
- EXPIRED Author Notifications: April 12th 2022
- Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the online abstract submission form available at the top of this webpage and should be submitted March 15th, 2022 the very latest.
- Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your stated email address. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us at info@efmc14.org
- Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the EFMCC on the basis of originality, technical quality, style and clarity of presentation and importance to the field. Accepted contributions will then be selected for oral presentations.
- Abstracts must be written in English.
- Only a single abstract can be submitted per registered person.
- Conference proceedings will not be published.
- It is the author's responsibility to submit a complete abstract in finalized format. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced as typed by the author.
- The presenting author is indicated by clicking on the appropriate box next to the respective name.
- Pre-registration of the abstract’s presenting author until May 30th, 2022 is a prerequisite for its presentation in the Scientific Program and its publication in the Conference electronic material.
- If an author wishes to withdraw a submitted abstract, a written request should be sent to the Conference Secretariat.
- All authors agree to abide by EFMC policies pertaining to submission, publication, and presentation of abstracts.
- The punctual submission of abstracts is also a prerequisite for their acceptance. Any submitted abstract that does not meet the above requirements will not be accepted.
- Abstract should be submitted in MS-Word file, maintaining the format indicated in the submission guidelines below (Click here to see the abstract template).
- The total length of the abstract for EFMC14 is one page including all figures, which are optional. Abstracts longer than one page will not be accepted.
- The total number of words should be 250-430 depending on the number and size of the figures.
- The format and typesetting of this abstract is listed below:
- Paper size is A4 with text width and height of 130 and 200 mm, respectively.
- The tab length is 5 mm and shall be used to indent each new paragraph.
- Font to be used is ‘Garamond’ with justified side alignments. Font sizes are 13pt for title and author list, 11pt for text, 9pt for footnotes, 10pt for figure captions.
- No page numbering is used.
- The title should be in bold and the presenting author should be underlined.
- Author affiliation is given using footnotes with the number format “a, b…”
- References are made with footnotes using the number format “1, 2…”. Only the surnames of the authors should be used. In case of more than two authors "et al." should be used. The title of the reference should not be given, however, the journal name in italic, volume in bold and the first page number followed by the year in parenthesis should (please refer to the abstract tamplete above).
- Make sure the labels and all other text in the figures themselves have a legible font size, i.e. not smaller then 11pt. Check this by comparing the figure text with the text in the abstract which is 11pt. Use a common format of the figure file.
- The responsibility of proof-reading the abstract text remains with the author.
Notification of Acceptance
- All received abstracts will be evaluated by members of the EFMCC.
- Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to the corresponding author of each abstract by April 12th, 2022.
- Accepted abstracts will be considered for oral presentation.
- The corresponding author receives all information concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all other co-authors of the status of the abstract.
- All abstract presenters will be asked to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification. If you do not reconfirm your abstract presentation, register and pay the registration fee before the given deadline, your abstract will be removed from the program.
