How Will The Congress Work
The virtual congress will operate on a special virtual platform and will be similar to any in-person congress. Presentations will be assembled in sessions according to the Session they were submitted for and will assigned to a virtual room. Each session will be coordinated by the Chairpersons. As with in-person congresses, people access their preferred session by entering a room; they then only have to click on their preferred session to access the virtual room of their choice.
Presentations will be delivered as prerecorded videos. Presenters should be virtually present during their presentation in order to participate in the live discussion. As with in-person congresses, there will also be a dedicated period for questions and discussion at the end of each session. Attendees will be able to use a Q&A Chat box during the entire session duration to post comments & questions. The session’s chairpersons will select a few questions, depending on the available time and read them to the presenter who will be able to answer verbally at the end of the session.
- Session Opening: Chairs will coordinate each session, by opening the session and introducing all presenters and presentation titles to follow. The list of presentations and speakers will be displayed on the virtual platform’s session information area.
- Session Presentations: All presenters, will deliver their presentations as pre-recorded videos one after the other. However, presenters should be virtually present during their presentation in order to be ready to answer questions at the end of the session.
- Session Q&As: After all presentations are played, all presenting authors will join in the session chairs on the main stage for a group live discussion. The time estimated for these discussions is 20 – 30 minutes. Attendees will be able to use the available Q&A Chat box to type their questions. The session’s chairpersons will select a the questions and read them to the presenters to be answered verbally.
On-Demand view of the Congress
All sessions will be fully recorded and made available as on demand videos after the end of the Congress. The video recordings will be uploaded on the virtual platform for 3 months after the congress and as usual will be made available in the members only area of the ELMO Website pending presenters’ approval.
In case you do not give your consent to include your presentation on session’s recordings, please select the “I do not give my consent” option in the consent form we have sent you. Pre-recorded presentations will be edited and uploaded to the event’s designated platform from the Congress Organizing Secretariat team and presenters do not have to take any further actions.
