Welcome Letter

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 77th Annual Congress of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology that is held at the Megaron Athens International Conference Center from 6th to 9th October 2021. Our Annual Congress aims to update the Greek Orthopaedic Community on the latest achievements and data related to state-of-the-art issues on Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology by distinguished domestic as well as international specialists. This year marks 200 years since the 1821 Hellenic Revolution for independence. On this occasion we sent a special invitation to the Orthopaedic Surgeons of the Hellenic Diaspora who have responded warmly with great interest.

The primary emphasis of this year’s conference is on patient safety and new technologies. We have prepared an attractive program which covers all aspects of specialty within the Orthopaedic sphere and many papers of the highest standard will be presented. There are teaching lectures for the junior doctor and separate talks on common outpatient clinics problems. The more experienced surgeon will be more invested in the idea of “Experts meet Experts” in a debate forum and participate public discussions on various special fields.

The Congress presents an excellent opportunity indeed for surgeons specializing in different fields to be exposed to new ideas, to interact and exchange opinions on new perspectives not only in their own limited field of interest but within Orthopaedics as a whole. The aim of this flexible approach is to provide an inclusive way for varying experience levels to allow all participants to greatly benefit from our four-day program.

I am sure that Congress delegates will greatly enjoy meeting with distinguished experts of the faculty and we consider every participation an important asset which will significantly contribute to the success of our educational event.

With my warmest personal regards,

Mr Theodore P. Kormas MD, PhD
President of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology-HAOST
