Q: How do I register for the Congress and Short Course?

Q: How can I pay the registration fees?

Q: Can I bring an accompanying person at the Congress?
A: You can register an accompanying person at the Congress during your registration process.
Q: Can I register for both Short Courses?
A: You cannot attend both Short Courses. You can select one of the two.
Q: Can I attend more than one Congress Excursion and how can I register?
A: Unfortunately, registered delegates and their registered accompanying person(s) can participate in only one Congress Excursion. The selection of the Congress excursion is made during the registration process.
However, there is a variety of extra Tours on the website in which participation is upon payment.
Q: What are the requirements to register as a Student Delegate?
A: Student Delegates are considered undergraduates, graduates or PhD students.
The online registration application must be accompanied by a written Proof of Status (e.g. a scanned copy of the student ID card or a signed official letter written in English by the Head of the Department on a University letterhead) to confirm the student's status. You will be asked to upload the document during the registration process.
Postdocs are considered as Regular Delegates.
Q: Can I register before the early fee deadline and pay later?
A: In order to benefit from the early fee registration discount, payment must be received before the deadline (i.e. before April 14th, 2023).
Q: Can I register onsite?
A: Onsite registration is available during the Congress days. Onsite fees will apply.
Q: Will I receive a confirmation letter after I have finished registering?
A: A detailed booking confirmation letter will be sent to you by email as soon as your registration is completed.
Q: Can I receive an invoice/ receipt under the University/ Institute/ Company's name?
A: During the registration process, you are required to insert Billing Details, this information will appear on the invoice/ receipt you will receive by email within one month after your payment is complete.
In case of any change of the information requested after the issuance of the invoice/ receipt, there will be a handling fee of €20 for the re-issuance of the invoice/ receipt.
Q: Can I cancel my registration or make any alterations?
A: Any cancellation of your registration must be notified in writing by e-mail to the Congress Organizing Secretariat at info@icr2023.com , and will be subject to the following conditions:
- Up to and including May 31st, 2023: 50% of the total amount will be refunded.
- From June 1st, 2023, and onwards: No refund will be granted.
- All refunds will be processed within two (2) months after the end of the ICR2023 Congress minus any Bank charges.
- Up to and including May 31st, 2023: name changes can be made with no additional charge.
- Between June 1st, 2023, and July 14th, 2023: name changes will be charged with a € 20 administrative fee.
- After July 15th, 2023: no name changes will be accepted.
Q: Can I register for Virtual Attendance of the Congress?

Q: Which sessions are included in the Virtual Attendance (Congress)?
A: Only the following selected sessions are included in the Virtual Attendance:
- Plenaries (including Weissenberg and Bingham lectures)
- Polymeric materials (melts, solutions, copolymers, blends, composites)
- Supramolecular and self-assembling systems, associating polymers, polyelectrolytes, synthetic and biological networks
- Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics
- Suspensions, frictional and granular systems
- Arrested matter: gels, glasses and jammed systems.

Q: Can I submit an abstract and present it virtually – is this possible?
A: Physical presence of presenters is required. Unfortunately, there is no option for online presentation.
Q: I have submitted an abstract – when can I expect my notification whether it has been accepted or not?
A: The notification deadline of acceptance for oral presentations was on February 15th, 2023.
The notification deadline of acceptance for poster presentations is on March 31st, 2023.
Q: When will the Congress program be announced?
A: The Congress technical program will be announced on May 31st, 2023.
Q: I am keen on receiving the abstract book of the Congress. Where can I find it?
A: All registered delegates will be notified regarding the Abstract Book in due time.
Q: Can I submit more than one Poster Presentations?
A: Yes, you can submit more than one Poster Presentations.
Kindly note that the Presenting Authors' registration deadline is on April 14th, 2023.
Q: How can I find out information about hotels close to the Congress Venue?

Q: How can I book a room? Will I receive a hotel booking confirmation?
A: You can book a room during your registration process. To book a hotel please click HERE.
A detailed booking confirmation letter will be sent to you by email as soon as your registration/ booking is completed.
Q: Can I book rooms for a group?
A: For group bookings please contact the Congress Organizing Secretariat at info@icr2023.com.
Q: Can I cancel my hotel booking?
A: Written notification sent to the Congress Organizing Secretariat at info@icr2023.com is required for any cancellation or change to your Accommodation. Refunds will be made as follows (according to the postmark on the notice of cancellation):
- Up to and including May 31st, 2023: 50% refund less € 100 administration fee
- From June 1st, 2023, and onwards: No refund will be granted.
- All refunds will be made within two months after the end of the Congress minus the Bank charges.
Q: How do I apply for a visa?
A: Greece follows the Schengen Agreement provision and the subsequent acquis concerning short term visa issues stays of up to three (3) months in the Schengen area.
Keep in mind that visa regulations might differentiate between nationalities and countries. We strongly advise you to contact your Local Consulate/ Authority for detailed instructions on the visa regulations and application process that apply to you specifically.

Q: I need a visa invitation letter in order to facilitate my visa application process, how can I get one?
A: Participants that require an official Invitation Letter in order to attend the ICR2023 Congress, should tick the appropriate box during their online registration process. Please note that invitation letters are issued only for those participants who have completed the registration process (paid registration fees).
In case of Visa refusal, full refund (minus 50€ which applies for administration fees) of the paid registration fee will apply, on the occasion that notification to the Congress Secretariat is made up to two (2) months prior to the congress. Notification to the Congress secretariat must be made by e-mail at info@icr2023.com including the official visa refusal letter.

Q: Can the Congress Organizing Secretariat send an official visa invitation letter directly to my Local Consulate/ Authority?
A: Unfortunately, the Congress Organizing Secretariat is unable to send visa invitation letters directly to Consulates/ Authorities. Visa invitation letters are prepared solely for delegates and are forwarded to them by email.
Q: When and where will the Welcome Reception of the Congress take place?
A: The Welcome Reception will take place in the Congress Venue (Exhibition Area) on Sunday, July 30th, 2023.
Q: When and where will the Banquet Dinner take place?
A: The Banquet Dinner will take place on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 at the "Ble Azure" Seaside Restaurant.
Q: Can I bring my accompanying person with me?
A: Only registered accompanying persons can participate in the Social Program. Please click HERE for more information.
Q: Can I bring my child/ children to the Congress? Where can I leave them?
