The Benaki Museum, established and endowed in 1930 by Antonis Benakis, is housed in the Benakis family mansion, a neoclassical building in downtown Athens.
The museum houses Greek works of art from the prehistorical to the modern times, an extensive collection of Asian art, hosts periodic exhibitions and maintains a state-of-the-art restoration and conservation workshop. The main museum, that we will visit, focuses on Greek culture over the span of the country's history.
Satellite museums belonging to Benaki house a variety of collections such as Islamic art, Chinese porcelain and exhibits on toys.

Description
A guided coach tour of Cape Sounion, which is noted as the site of ruins of an ancient Greek temple of Poseidon, the god of the sea in classical mythology. The remains are perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea.
The site is a popular day-excursion from Athens, with a spectacular view of the Aegean Sea, as viewed from the ruins, a sought-after spectacle.
The site is accessible by road from Athens. This is a scenic highway, which closely follows the west coast of Attica (the "Attica Riviera"), passing through numerous upscale residential districts and resorts. From this jutting headland, there is a panoramic view of the surrounding Aegean islands.

A guided coach tour of Delphi, which is the archaeological site of Delphi is located in Phocis province on a plateau on the slope of Mount Parnassus. The ancient Greeks called Delphi «the omphalos (i.e. navel) of the Earth», and this was designated by a large, round, conical stone. Delphi is best-known for the oracle at the sanctuary of Apollo, a major temple of the god of prophecy and patron of philosophy and the arts. Today Delphi is a charming village with spectacular scenery and the ancient remains within the boundaries of the modern town.

The National Archaeological Museum of Athens is the largest archaeological museum in Greece and one of the most important museums in the world devoted to ancient Greek art. It was founded at the end of the 19th century to house and protect antiquities from all over Greece, thus displaying their historical, cultural and artistic value. Its abundant collections, with more than 11,000 exhibits, provide a panorama of Greek civilization from the beginnings of Prehistory to Late Antiquity. The museum is housed in an imposing neoclassical building of the end of the nineteenth century, which was designed by L. Lange and remodeled by Ernst Ziller. The vast exhibition space - numerous galleries on each floor - accounts for a total of 8,000 square meters.

The tour of Athens will commence in front of the Parliament building in Syntagma square with the changing of the Guards (Evzone).From Syntagma square, the central historical district of the city and passing from the monument of the Unknown Soldier you will enjoy a pleasant walk through the National Gardens, the neoclassical Zappeion conference center (the oldest in Europe), the temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch and the old Plaka district.The tour continues with a visit to the Acropolis, where you will see the Propylea, the temple of Nike, the Parthenon, wonders of the Golden Age of Pericles. From the Acropolis hill you will have a breathtaking view of the surroundings, including the Agora, the Observatory, the Democracy hill (Pnyx), the Philopappos Hill and Mars Hill. You steepen the hill of the Nymphs where you will stop and enjoy amazing views of the Acropolis from Pnyx. Aegina island, the closest island to Athens features pristine waters and beaches, picturesque landscapes and according to the myth, took its name from a nymph, daughter of the river god Asopos, whom Zeus fell in love with and took with him to the island! Relax on one of the spacious decks and enjoy the view of the Saronic Gulf. Be entertained by a professional guide, hearing stories and facts about Aegina, which was the first capital of modern Greece dating back to 1827-1829. It was during that period when Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias had impressive neoclassical mansions built to house his headquarters that today are important tourist attractions. Even though the island is small, it boasts a great number of sights and natural beauties, highlight of which is the famous Aphea Temple. It forms in fact an equilateral triangle with the Parthenon and the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, the so-called “holy triangle” of the antiquity.

Starting from Athens we drive westwards along the scenic coast, until we reach the Corinth Canal with its breathtaking views (short stop). The Corinth Canal is a junction of international sea transport and serves ships coming from the western Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea en route to eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea ports and vice-versa. The Corinth Canal intersects the Isthmus of Corinth and has a length of 6.3km. The minimum width of the canal at sea level is 24.6m and bottom width of 21m at 8m depth. Shortly thereafter we reach the ancient town of Corinth where St.Paul lived and preached for two years. The site of Ancient Corinth was first inhabited in the Neolithic period (5,000-3,000 B.C.). The peak period of the town, though, started in the 8th century B.C. and lasted until its destruction by the Roman general Mummius in 146 B.C. Representative of its wealth is the Doric temple of Apollo which was built in 550 B.C.
The city was re-inhabited in 44 B.C. and gradually developed again. In 51/52 A.D. the center of the Roman city was organized to the south of the temple of Apollo and included shops, small shrines, fountains, baths and other public buildings. The invasion of the Herulians in A.D. 267 initiated the decline of the city though it remained inhabited for many centuries through successive invasions and destructions, until it was liberated from the Turks in 1822.
