Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is a great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 25th Congress of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN), held in Paris-France, at Le Beffroi de Montrouge, from May 8 to May 11, 2016.
In our 2016 Congress, we also welcome the contribution of our colleagues from the Brazilian Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (SBNPed) and the Asian-Australasian Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (AASPN). In jointly organised sessions, we anticipate interesting discussions to take place, with distinguished specialists from different backgrounds addressing issues of multidisciplinary interest.
Since its first organisation, the ESPN biennial Congress has come a long way, to be now considered as the major scientific gathering of our sub-specialty in Europe. During our 25th Anniversary, we will have the opportunity to review these steps and recognize the progress made in Europe in the field of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
The Scientific Committee has planned a comprehensive programme, which comprises Plenary Sessions, Round Tables and Special Lectures. The main subjects to be addressed include craniofacial surgery, pediatric head trauma, pediatric neurovascular disease, pediatric oncology, intraoperative neuromonitoring, spinal dysraphism, as well as spinal lipomas. Sessions open with keynote lectures on the respective topics delivered by renowned international Faculty, to be followed by oral presentations on the latest in research and clinical practice. ePoster presentations offer an additional insight of recent developments in our sub-specialty, in an attempt to enhance scientific interaction and discourse.
