Washington, D.C. is the capital of the United States and to this day remains one of the most politically significant cities.
It was founded after the American Revolution and tasked with holding the seat of the government of the new independent country the United States became.
Named after one of the most notorious politicians of all time, George Washington it’s home to all three branches of the U.S. federal government as well as many national museums, landmarks and foreign embassies.

Getting around Washington
Washington is a very pedestrian friendly city and has one of the finest public transit systems in the country. To get around the city one can rent a bike, take a bus, ride the metro and of course use the traditional means of hailing a cab.

How to Get There
  • By Plane
    There are three primary airports used to get into the D.C. Metro area – Ronald Reagan (DCA), Dulles (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington (BWI).
  • By Train
    Amtrak is a very convenient way to get into D.C. if you’re traveling from the East Coast corridor. Trains come into Union Station, a centrally located and easy to navigate transit hub. Metro trains (Red) depart from Union Station regularly and taxis are readily available to get you to your next destination.
  • By Bus
    Buses are a low-cost travel option that many younger travelers enjoy. Most buses arrive and depart from Union Station.
Washington is friendly to foreign visitors
In terms of artistic variety there are a few places in the world that can rival the pieces housed in this city. Host of Smithsonian Institution, the National Air & Space Museum, National Museum of African American History & Culture and many more sights seem never ending as will your will to visit them.
