The ICMART Science Award in Acupuncture and Related Techniques is the main award of ICMART, which will be presented at each ICMART Congress. It recognizes an outstanding scientific contribution in the field of acupuncture, TCM and related techniques. Submission requires innovative and excellent scientific projects either in basic research or in clinical research.
The ICMART Science Award is valued at 1,000 Euro. In addition, if the winner (one author) travels to Greece, ICMART will cover travel costs of up to 500 Euro and the congress fee.
Instructions:
To qualify for this award, please submit one scientific manuscript either published or accepted for publication in an indexed peer-reviewed journal during the years 2019 or 2020 or 2021. The manuscript should be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae of the nominated authors and a one-page statement in plain English for the general audience describing why this scientific work should be awarded. The award-winning manuscript will be selected by an independent committee composed of members of the ICMART Scientific Chapter upon the following criteria: a) innovation, b) level of relevance, c) scientific rigor.
The ICMART Science Award 2021 will be presented at the upcoming ICMART Congress in Athens. Preconditions for the payment of the award are physical presence of the awardee at the designated award ceremony and an oral presentation of the research project in one of the congress sessions.
Due to possible travel restrictions it will be possible to lecture and to join the ceremony online.
In this case there are no additional cost to be covered.

Apply for the ICMART Science Award Online
The Young Scientists Travel Award is to encourage young researchers of promise on whom the progress in the field of acupuncture, TCM and related techniques depends. It recognizes four science projects addressing any topic related to acupuncture, TCM or related techniques – whether it is etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis or therapy of symptoms or diseases. All submitted abstracts compete for a limited number of 4 Travel Grants.
Each of the four Young Scientists Travel Awards is valued at 500 Euro in order to cover travel costs to the ICMART Congress. In addition, the awardees have free congress admission.
Instructions:
Physicians, scientists, medical students and other healthcare providers currently in residency or fellowship programs of no more than three years after obtaining their final degree are eligible for application. Interested candidates should submit an abstract summarizing their research project. In addition, applicants are required to upload upload a brief curriculum vitae of the nominated authors and a one-page statement in plain English for the general audience describing why this scientific work should be awarded. The awardee will be selected by an independent committee composed of members of the ICMART Scientific Chapter upon the following criteria: a) innovation, b) level of clinical and/or scientific relevance, c) scientific rigor and contribution of the applicant to the research project.
Precondition for the payment of the award is an oral presentation during the Young Scientists Session at the ICMART Congress 2021 in Athens.
Abstracts submitted but not accepted for the Young Scientists Travel Award will be considered for oral or poster presentations at the ICMART 2021 Congress.
Due to possible travel restrictions it will be possible to lecture and to join the ceremony online.
In this case there are no additional costs to be covered.
If there is no travel possible the award will restricted to 250 €

All posters accepted for presentation by the scientific committee of the congress will take part in the competition. Poster awards will be presented during the Poster Session, where awardees will be asked to give a 10 minutes presentation of their paper. In case of absence the respective award will not be attributed.
Each of the four poster awards is valued at 250 Euro.
An independent jury will evaluate all poster presentations according to the following criteria: a) Scientific excellence (all fields of research), b) Innovation, c) Clarity of presentation (visualization, structural logic), d) Understandability

- Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your stated email address. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us at info@icmart2021.com
- Abstracts must be written in English.
- Authors’ names must be listed with mixed-case letters (first name and family name in full). Affiliations (institute/hospital/university, city, country) should be properly stated in your abstract in lowercase. No references to the exact addresses (street number, ZIP) are needed and will be deleted for reasons of uniformity.
- Abstract texts should have the following structure
a) Introduction
b) Method
c) Results
d) Conclusion
The text must be a maximum of 400 words, excluding title and authors list and affiliations. - A brief curriculum vitae should accompany your abstract.
- It is the author's responsibility to submit a complete abstract in finalized format. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced as typed by the author.
- The presenting author is indicated by clicking on the appropriate box next to the respective name.
- Authors can modify the author information, category and core data of their abstract directly on the submission system until the deadline given. Please be aware that no extension will be granted.
- By submitting an abstract, submitters understand that their abstract, including names, is stored electronically and will be published by the Organizing Committee on the ICMART 2021 website. Failure to present the abstract on-site will result in exclusion from online publishing.
- Consent for publication of individual patient data (applies to abstracts with identifiable patient information): For publication of an abstract that contains identifiable information about patients, it is necessary that patients have given consent for the research to be published. For all abstracts that include identifiable patient details (e.g. gender, age, illness, location) or images, written informed consent must be obtained from the patient (or their parent or legal guardian) and a respective statement should be included in the abstract text.
- If the study has been supported by a grant, please indicate the source of funding at the bottom of your abstract. Number references (if any) should be placed in the order they appear in the abstract.
- Submission of closely related abstracts from the same group is discouraged.
- Abstracts will be assessed by an expert panel of reviewers. Acceptance of the submitted work is at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
- The corresponding author receives all information concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all other co-authors of the status of the abstract.
- All abstract presenters will be asked to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification. If you do not reconfirm your abstract presentation, register and pay the registration fee before the given deadline, your abstract will be removed from the program.
