Mark W. Pagnano, M.D., is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Dr. Pagnano is an internationally recognized expert in joint replacement surgery. He has focused his patient care, research and educational endeavors to make knee and hip replacement increasingly reliable, reproducible and efficient both for patients at Mayo Clinic and worldwide. His substantial contributions to the orthopedic community have demonstrably improved the care of knee and hip replacement patients in the areas of surgical technique, perioperative pain management, and techniques that limit blood loss and transfusion.

Dr. Pagnano is often asked for insight and analysis of contemporary orthopedic issues and has been featured in mainstream media outlets, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio and Consumer Reports. He is frequently invited to give presentations on his work both nationally and internationally and has authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, abstracts and other written publications. He also serves as deputy editor of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and holds reviewer responsibilities for prominent scientific publications.

In recognition of his work, Dr Pagnano has received many awards, including twice receiving the Clinical Research Award conferred by the Knee Society as well as the Frank Stinchfield Award conferred by the Hip Society. He is also a multiple recipient of the Mark B. Coventry Orthopedic Research Award.

In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Pagnano is active in education and provides mentorship to many orthopedic residents and fellows, among others. He also holds memberships in professional organizations such as the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Hip Society, and the Knee Society, where he is vice-president and serves on the Board of Directors.

Marius M. Scarlat MD, PhD, Dr HC, is a Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Specialist working in the Orthopaedic and Sports Surgery Department of Clinique Saint Michel in Toulon, France.
Dr Scarlat is performing open and arthroscopic reconstruction of Shoulder and Elbow and is author of many scientific papers in the orthopaedic literature. He lectured and performed live surgery and teaching laboratory arthroscopic skills in different locations in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia. He authored more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed publications and did over 100 conferences and lectures in high-ranked scientific societies like the AAOS, COA, EFORT, SICOT, SOFCOT, IOACON. Currently Dr Scarlat is a Member of the Board of the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) and serves as Editor in Chief of "International Orthopaedics", official Journal of the SICOT

Marc Swiontkowski, MD, is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the past president of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Orthopaedic Association.

In 1979, he received his Medical Degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training at the University of Washington. After a research fellowship in Switzerland he joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University. In July 1988 he returned to the University of Washington and in 1989, was promoted to Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and assumed the position of Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, Washington. From September 1997 through October 2007, he held the position of Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota. From 2007 through July 2015, he held the position of CEO for TRIA Orthopaedic Center. He is currently a Professor at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Swiontkowski is an NIH funded investigator and has published articles in peer review journals on numerous topics including osteomyelitis, fracture treatment, and the assessment of musculoskeletal outcomes. He's lectured extensively in this country as well as abroad. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Cyril is the Director of Service of the Department of Orthopedics, Rehabilitation and Physical therapy at Denver Health Medical Center and the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma. He is Professor of Orthopaedics at the Colorado University School of Medicine. Dr Mauffrey is from Marseille, France but grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong and did his Medical School at the University of Turin in Italy. He then went to England to pursue his residency training in Orthopaedics under the auspices of the Royal College of Surgeons. Cyril did his Orthopaedic Trauma fellowship at the University of Louisville. He is the current Editor in Chief for the European Journal of Orthopaedics and serves on several other editorial boards. He travels nationally and internationally to give talks on orthopedic trauma particularly on pelvic and acetabular fractures. With over 140 peer-reviewed publications authored in the field of Orthopaedic Trauma in addition to book chapters and textbooks on the same topic Cyril’s research focuses on the treatment and outcomes following complex pelvic and acetabular fractures.

Dr. Schoenfeld received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and a Master of Science in Healthcare Research from the University of Michigan. He completed training in spine surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is presently a Deputy Editor at the Journal of bone and Joint Surgery and Director of Spine Surgical Research at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is the principal investigator of the POST and STRIDES studies regarding decision making in treatment for spinal metastases. He has over 200 peer reviewed scientific publications. He is the recipient of the North American Spine Society's outstanding paper award in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and previously received research awards from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, ISSLS and the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association.

Carlo L Romanò, adjunct Professor in Orthopedics at the University of Milan, is the Director of the Center of Reconstructive Surgery and Osteoarticular Infection (C.R.I.O.) and co-Director of the Milano Biofilm Center at the Research Orthopedic Institute Galeazzi in Milan, Italy. Co-founder and Secretary General of the World Association against Infection in Orthopedics and Trauma (www.waiot.world). He served as President of the European Bone and Joint Infection Society and is a co-founder and past-President of the Italian Study Group on Osteoarticular Infections.

Mr Nicolas Nicolaou is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sheffield Children's Hospital. His clinical practice is general paediatric orthopaedics with a sub-specialist interest in the Paediatric knee.
He is a board member of the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Association. He is the Chair of the current BSCOS/BASK steering committee that aims to produce guideline for the management of Paediatric soft tissue knee pathology.

Dr A. Nikolaides is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialized in Reconstructive Surgery of the Knee and Hip as well as General Orthopaedic Trauma. He graduated from Thessaloniki Medical School in 1990 and started his internship in Orthopaedics and Trauma the same year in the United Kingdom. He received his training in Royal Victoria infirmary Newcastle Upon Tyne, Good Hope Hospital Sutton Coldfield and Solihull Hospital. He worked amongst others with A. J Polyzoides FRCS in Solihull for three consecutive years being his Registrar. During this period he was involved with the evolution of the Rotaglide Total Knee System Corin Medical UK and the training of many surgeons in the technique of meniscal bearing implants. In 1996 he returned to Greece and after completing his military service, he became Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the 3rd Orthopaedics and Trauma Unit University of Thessaloniki – “Papageorgiou” General Hospital until September 2010. During this period he performed as a Leading Surgeon Primary and Revision knee and hip surgery, as well as trauma both adult and paediatric. Ηe was also actively involved in the teaching of medical students and the training of Registrars in primary and revision joint replacement Surgery as well as complex trauma.
