Alexios Galinos

Biography

Alexios Galinos is a development economist. He has served as Advisor to the Municipality of Athens in economic development matters since 2003. Having established the first municipal agency for the management and implementation of tourism and economic development in Athens (OTOAA) he served as the organization’s first Director-General from 2005 to 2007. He worked as an external consultant for the World Bank and for NGOs in several countries including India and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Between 2007-2009 he also served as Special Secretary and Advisor to the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is currently CEO of the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency, the principal municipal agency presently mandated with the total management of the development of the City of Athens and its establishment as a foremost travel and business destination.

He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, an MSc in European Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Economics from Bates College.
