// Welcome Message
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is a great honor and a privilege to invite you to Långvik-Helsinki for the 2nd year of the 10th cycle of the Postgraduate Course in Pediatric Neurosurgery of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN).
In its long course since its first organisation in 1986, the ESPN Course has become a well found tradition, as well as an integral part of training to our subspecialty for European neurosurgeons. The 3-year cycle ensures familiarization with the special aspects implicated in the pediatric practice of neurosurgery and highlights both up-to-date and classic parameters of everyday practice. Thanks to its accomplished training committee, and to the renowned instructors, it has attained a high scientific level. Its great success should also be attributed to its multidisciplinary aspects, as established professionals in sister disciplines offer their insight as part of its Faculty.
This year the addressed topics will be craniosynostosis, orbit, skull, craniovertebral junction anomalies, dysraphism, sellar and suprasellar lesion and vascular pathologies. The Scientific Programme features Morning Sessions with lectures and cases discussion on the aforementioned thematic, as well as Afternoon Parallel Sessions of hands-on workshops and case-solving groups, enhancing interaction between trainers and trainees.
The Course will take place from June 13 to June 17, 2016 in the Långvik Congress Hotel, half an hour drive from the centre of Helsinki.
We look forward to welcoming you all in Långvik!
Dr. Minna Oinas
ESPN 2016 Course Chairman
