Modern methods for prostate cancer detection yield significantly higher detection rates than conventional methods. The incoming international and national (NICE) guidance for Prostate Cancer asks to implement the use of mpMRI for lesion detection at several points of the diagnostic pathway. Radiologists and Urologists need to be aware of the implications of this for their practice. It is now recognised that due to the significant learning curve when reading prostate MRIs for lesions a systematic training and accreditation should be mandatory. The Cambridge & Heidelberg Prostate MRI Workshop has taken place in Cambridge in 2013 and 2014 with unanimous applause. * Lectures by young leading experts in their field, practical cases and discussions are combined with DKFZ Heidelberg workshop material.

The Cambridge & Heidelberg faculty uses modules of their annual workshop to offer a one-day intensive introduction to Prostate mpMRI for Urologists and Radiologists for the 8th Focal Therapy Symposium. The delegates will acquire foundation knowledge and practical skills to detect potentially malignant prostate lesions in multiparametric MR image sets according to the ESUR guidelines.
