The National Maritime Museum has reopened. Het Scheepvaartmuseum” , as it is known to the locals, has been completely renovated but still exudes history, it is a beautiful imposing and impressive building in the heart of Amsterdam. The building, the Arsenal, has undergone a complete metamorphosis. The Museum, shows how Holland culture has been shaped by the sea. Stimulating, interactive exhibits allow everyone to explore 5 centuries of maritime history. Attractive object exhibitions show the best from our world famous collection.
At the same time “Het Scheepvaartmuseum” is an outstanding location for all sorts of Events. The completely renovated, monumental building dating from 1656 has a number of multifunctional rooms which are suited to any number of events. Het Scheepvaartmuseum is easily accessible by public transportation, by car, and of course by water.
