   Important Information for the Cruise

EMBARKATION & CHECK-IN

Cruise Boat “CALYPSO” will depart from the main TERMINAL A, Gate E11, at Akti Xaverion, Piraeus Port (To see exact location please click here).

Please note that you should be at the terminal until 09:45 a.m. the very latest. A separate Hospitality Desk will be operating at the Terminal, where your documents will be checked and you will receive the name tags for your luggage.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PASSPORT WITH YOU
When you arrive at the ship's dock, porters will take your luggage and place it aboard the ship.  Make sure that you do not give them your carry on bag and that you have not packed your documents in your checked luggage. Have your documentation ready as you go to the check-in desk. At this desk, you will be asked for: A valid passport (or Government issued photo identity card for EU citizens) and your pre-boarding pass, (which must be duly completed online prior to arriving at the port). You will then be issued an embarkation card from the cruise line. This is your charge card for all onboard purchases, including beverages and onboard shopping and you’re your ID to get on and of the Boat. It is important that you do not lose this card. After boarding the ship, be sure you register your credit card’s details at the reception, in order to activate your embarkation card. If you misplace this card, check with the Pursers desk in order to obtain a new one or to check if anyone has turned in your lost card.  All meals are served as open setting. You can choose to proceed to the restaurant or to the buffet at your leisure within the given time frame.

MUSTER DRILLS
Before the ship sets sail, every passenger is required to attend the Muster Drill.  An announcement will be made over the loud speakers instructing you to go to your cabin, put on your life jacket and go to your muster station.  Every passenger must do this.  The crew will search cabins to make sure everyone is at the drill.  This is required by the Coast Guard. This drill is designed to show everyone what to do in the unlikely event you have to abandon ship.  This drill will take approximately 15-30 minutes. Your assigned Muster Station is located on your cabin door and on the life jackets inside your cabin.  If you have any question about where your Muster Station is, ask your cabin steward or any of the crew during the drill.

DAILY NEWSLETTER
Each evening you will have a "Ship Newsletter" delivered to your cabin. This will detail the times and places for all of the ships activities of the following day. It will also tell you what time each of the dining areas, bars and pools open and close.  Here's a TIP - Carry a Hi Liter with you to mark the activities you are most interested in.

BREAKFAST - LUNCHES - DINNERS
During the Cruise, breakfast, lunches, snacks and dinners will be served on board according to the cruise program. Soft drinks, mineral water and alcoholic beverages are not included and will be charged to your embarkation card. You will be asked to settle your account at the end of the cruise.

ON BOARD TIPPING
Tipping is optional, but highly recommended.  The suggested amount is Euro 8,00 per person per day, while children will be charged for Euro 4,00. Tips will be charged automatically to your account and you will be given the option to change the amount, should you wish to do so during the cruise.

DISEMBARKATION
On the last night of the cruise, you will need to prepare for debarking the next morning.  You will be given forms to fill out for customs. You will also have to pack and have your luggage sitting outside your stateroom by a specified time. You will be given color coded luggage tags to place on your luggage prior to setting your bags out.  On the morning of debarkation, everyone will be told what area they are to gather in while waiting for customs and immigration officials to clear the ship.
As soon as the Boat has been cleared, all luggage will be taken off the Boat and placed in the Terminal Hall where passengers will proceed in order to collect their luggage individually. Please make sure that you do not take someone else luggage by mistake.
In order to facilitate an orderly debarkation, passengers are called to leave the ship according to their deck or color coded luggage tag.  If you have an early flight scheduled, be sure to let the Purser and your cabin steward know in advance and you will be permitted to disembark earlier than your normal deck assignment.  This information should reach the Purser on Saturday afternoon the very latest as you will be handed special luggage labels which must be placed on your luggage before placing it outside of your cabin.

TRANSPORTATION FROM PORT TO AIRPORT
Transportation will be provided from Piraeus Port either to the city center of Athens or to the Athens International Airport, by deluxe motor-coaches. Please contact the Course Secretariat Desk on board for more information and reconfirmation.
