Official language
The official working language of the meeting is English. Sessions of Commissions and Working Groups will not be translated.

Passport and Visa
Visas are not required for participants from the USA and EU countries.
All non-EU citizens should contact their local embassies for specific requirements. All foreign citizens entering Greece must be in possession of a valid passport, or ID card for EU citizens.

Official Invitation
An official letter designed to assist in meeting administrative requirements in some countries, will be send to any participation upon request. However, this invitation implies no obligation, financial or otherwise, by the EAAP Organisation Committee.

Health and Insurance
Participants are requested to arrange their own insurance for health, travel and property.
The Organising Committee will not accept any liability for personal injuries, loss or damage of property.

Smoking Ban
Smoking is forbidden in enclosed places of work in Greece. This includes office blocks, various buildings, public houses/bars and restaurants and company vehicles. Smoking will not be permitted indoors at the congress centre. Some hotels have rooms for smokers.

Currency and Money Exchange
The monetary unit in Greece is the Euro (€). Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport or at the banks. All major Credit Cards, such as MasterCard, Visa; American Express are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops. Banks are open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 14:00.

Electricity Supply
In Greece the electrical power is 220 volts AC, 50 cycles. A round-pin adaptor is necessary for electrical appliances.

Climate
The weather in Crete Island in August is generally sunny and warm. The average air temperatures are 25-35oC during the day and 18-28oC during the evening.

How to get to the Conference centre
Transportation from Heraklion Airport to the Hotel and vice versa.
“Kazantzakis” International Airport of Crete, is situated 24km west of Creta Maris Hotel, close to the fishing village of Hersonissos. The time from the Airport to the Hotel is estimated approximately 20 minutes. Upon your arrival our representatives will be waiting for you, holding a distinctive sign of the Conference. Our representatives will lead you to our deluxe, fully air conditioned coaches to take you to the Creta Maris Hotel.

Transfers
By bus
Meeting shuttle bus: Heraklion Airport to Meeing Hotels
A shuttle bus service from Heraklion Airport to the Meeting hotels according to the schedule of arrivals will be provided. Return transfers can be arranged onsite, directly at the Meeting Secretariat.
By taxi
Transportation by taxi costs: 30 Euro per way (max 3 persons).

Cars from airport
In order to benefit from your stay in Crete during the Meeting, special prices only for the participants will be ensured for car rentals. To pre book your car please contact the secretariat. All cars are equipped with air condition. If you wish to pick up your car at the Airport, please note that there will be an additional charge. Detailed information will be available on the Congress website
at a later stage.
