1. 1st IAHR SUMMIT ON "The Engineering & Research Contribution to Global Water Security"

As part of a major plan for re-organisation which started in 2009, IAHR wishes to identify and respond more effectively to issues of global significance affecting the hydro-environment community. As part of celebrations of the 75th birthday of IAHR the 1st IAHR Summit on Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research
will take place during the 6th ISEH in Athens. Chaired by Prof Roger Falconer, a small group of invited experts will address the following issue:  “The Engineering & Research Contribution to Global Water Security”

Participation by invitation only. A short presentation of the conclusions of the Summit will be made during the Symposium Dinner.

2. Impromptu meeting on the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

Everyone interested in the recent Gulf disaster is welcome to attend this informal meeting which will consist of short presentations by Prof. Yapa (USA), and Dr. Al Banaa (Kuwait) followed by an open discussion.
