Athens Metro network consists of 2 lines (Line 2 and Line 3) and 23 stations. An additional line (Line 1) of the ISAP network (www.isap.gr ), which already existed in Athens connecting the Port of Piraeus to the northern suburb of Kifisia.

The Archaeological Collection in the Metro

The biggest excavation ever in Greece was dug at the time of the construction of the metro¬politan railway of Athens (1993-2000). Some of the approximately 50,000 finds that were uncovered in these excavations are exhibited in specially designed spaces in the metro stops "Panepistimio", "Syntagma", "Akropoli" and "Evangelismos".
