Official Language
The official language of the Symposium is English.
No simultaneous translation will be available.

Badges and Identification
Each participant will receive a name badge upon check-in at the registration desk. The badge will be the official Symposium document and should be worn at all times in order to gain entry into the meeting room. Please note that access will not be possible into any of the Symposium areas without an official badge.

Currency / Credit Cards / Banking
All Symposium fees are calculated in Euro (€). Foreign currency, traveler’s cheques, and Eurocheques can be exchanged at the airport bank upon arrival or at banks located throughout Athens. Exchange offices and machines are available throughout Athens and the Symposium venue. Local banks or hotels in Athens will not cash personal cheques. Participants are advised to bring cash, traveler’s cheques or Eurocheques. Major credit cards are accepted in Athens.
Banks are open to the public from Monday to Friday, 08:00-14:00 hrs.

Registration and Information Desk
The Registration Desk will be located in "The Westin Hotel" of Asitr Palace Vouliagmeni and will be in operation the following dates and hours:
Wednesday, September 16th     12:00-18:30
Thursday, September 17th         08:30-19:30
Friday, September 18th             08:30-18:30
Saturday, September 19th         08:30-15:00

Insurance
Neither the Local Organizing Committee nor the Symposium Secretariat accept any liability for damages and/or losses of any kind which may be incurred by the Symposium participants or by any persons accompanying them, both during the official activities and excursions. Participation in all tours and events is at one’s own risk. Participants are advised to take out insurance against loss, accidents or damage that could be incurred during the Symposium. Verbal agreements will not be binding unless they are confirmed in writing. Sole place of jurisdiction is Athens. Greek law is applicable.

Mobile Phones
Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited within the scientific session rooms. Please ensure you have your mobile phone switched off when attending all sessions.

Passport & VISA Requirements
Visas are not required for participants from the USA and most European countries. If in doubt, please confirm if you need one with your travel agent or Greek Consulate. For further information, please visit the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs at

Electricity
A round-pin adaptor is necessary for electrical appliances. In Greece the electrical power is 220 volts AC, 50 cycles.
 
Climate and Clothing
The weather in the Greek capital during September is generally warm, sunny and pleasant.
The average air temperatures are 25-­ 30oC (82 ­- 92oF) during the day and 20-­ 25oC (70-82oF) during the evening.

Access
“Eleftherios Venizelos”, the International Airport of Athens, is directly linked with 68 cities and 45 countries. Athens is also easily accessed by rail, road and sea.
 

Transportation from Athens “El. Venizelos” Airport to “The Westin Athens”
By taxi from the airport  to The Westin Athens. A taxi costs approximately Euros 25-30 (higher rates apply after midnight) and takes about 30 minutes, or longer, depending on traffic conditions, (Rates are subject to change).

Transportation within Athens
The cost of a single ticket is 1,00 Euro on the metro and public buses.
The cost of a 24hr ticket for unlimited use of all types of public transport is 3 Euros,
