Official Language
The official language of the Congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
Currency / Credit Cards / Banking
All Congress fees are calculated in Euro (€). Participants from countries where currency restrictions prevent them from sending registration fees in advance are asked to inform the Congress Organizing Bureau to avoid being charged the late registration fee.
Foreign currency, traveller's cheques, and Euro cheques can be exchanged at the airport bank upon arrival or at banks located throughout Athens.
Local banks in Athens will not cash personal cheques. Participants are advised to bring cash, traveller’s cheques or Euro cheques. Major credit cards are accepted in Athens. Banks are open to the public from Monday to Friday, 08:00-14:00 hrs.
Passport & VISA Requirements
Visas are not required for participants from the USA and most European countries. If in doubt, please confirm if you need one with your travel agent or Greek Consulate. Liability and Insurance
Neither the organizers nor the Travel Agencies assume responsibility for injury and/or damage involving persons or property during the Congress. Participants are advised to take out their own personal insurance.

Electricity
A round-pin adaptor is necessary for electrical appliances. In Greece the electrical power is 220 volts AC, 50 cycles.
Climate and Clothing
The weather in the Greek capital during September is generally warm, sunny and pleasant. The average air temperatures are 25- 30oC (82 - 92 oF) during the day and 20- 25 oC (70-82 oF) during the evening.
Access
“Eleftherios Venizelos”, the International Airport of Athens, is directly linked with 68 cities and 45 countries. Athens is also easily accessed by rail, road and sea.
Transportation from Athens “El. Venizelos” Airport to the City Center
By metro from the airport directly to Syntagma Square in the center of Athens. The ticket costs 6 Euros and may be purchased at the ticket counter of the airport metro station.
A taxi from the airport to Athens city center costs approximately Euros 25-30 (higher rates apply after midnight) and takes about 30 minutes, or longer, depending on traffic conditions. (Rates are subject to change)
Transportation within Athens
The cost of a single ticket is 0.80 Euro on the metro or 0.50 Euro on public buses.
The cost of a 24hr ticket for unlimited use of all types of public transport is 3 Euros.
