Contemporary Athens is moreover famous for the lively night-life, the Monastiraki flea market, the Omonia Square that never sleeps and the elegant Syntagma square with the House of Parliament and the pair of elite soldiers (Evzones) that guard it night and day. This city is a place where tradition and modern life blend.
