Dear colleagues,
The 6th Meeting of the International Society for NeuroImmunoModulation will take place in Athens on September 25-28, 2005. The field of NeuroImmunoModulation has been rapidly expanding over the last 10 years. Besides studying the clinical and basic aspects of neurobiology, neuroendocrinology, immunology, and behavioural sciences also discerns the integrative elements underlying communication and modulation between these fields, and upon related disease states.
This year the 6th Meeting of the International Society for NeuroImmunoModulation will share some common sessions with The 6th Athens Congress on Women’s Health and Disease: Gynecologic and Reproductive Issues which will also be held in Athens on September 23-25, 2005. The purpose of this joined effort is to provide the opportunity for some knowledge exchange between the experts in both fields and inspire some fruitful collaboration. For those wishing to attend the whole congress, there will be a reduced registration fee and the opportunity to extend their stay in Athens.
The city of Athens has recently hosted the 2004 Olympic Games and has been spruced up and beautified. Participants will thus have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of this event and visit all famous archeological sites.
Our congress will consist of informative sessions, state of art lectures, interactive discussions and events, which will be conducted by distinguished invited speakers. Contrary to the comprehensive approach taken at previous congresses, the 6th Congress aims at focusing on diseases of the nervous system and their modulation by the immune and endocrine system. In addition, attention will be also paid in the neuroimmunomodulation of inflammatory, autoimmune and allergic diseases particularly with respect to the female gender.
The social program will help all participants relax and enjoy warm Athens even in late September. It will include sightseeing excursions, opportunities to visit all monuments of antiquity, and enjoy the sea visiting several marvellous islands around Athens.
We hope that all these elements will make your stay in Athens a productive and enjoyable experience.
Sincerely yours,
Prof. G. P. Chrousos, MD
